Her Majesty's Voice

[edit]

Sometime when I was still in high school, a recording of what appears to be Queen Victoria's voice was made public. The audio condition was bad - it was on a roll not a disc - but her voice could not be made out. I have no idea what her Majesty's voice sounded like, but I do know her mother tongue was German and she never fully mastered the English language, although, if that recording was any indication, she did speak English fluently.173.206.80.153 (talk) 09:30, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The relevancy being? EmilySarah99 (talk) 10:01, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"her mother tongue was German and she never fully mastered the English language" = utter garbage, disproven by the article text and the sources therein. DrKay (talk) 18:07, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting piece on the possible recording here. Johnbod (talk) 03:49, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, what do you think about to use this short recording as a sample of her voice? https://blogs.bl.uk/files/queen-victoria.mp3 Taken from here: https://blogs.bl.uk/sound-and-vision/2019/05/bicentenary-of-queen-victoria-is-this-her-voice.html Dmitry Azikov (talk) 12:45, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a washboard being dragged down a gravel road, so I think not ... 2603:6080:21F0:67F0:7105:D364:3999:BB71 (talk) 07:14, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An incredibly skewed and favourable view of the Queen in relation to the Irish Famine. Crops grown and reaped in Ireland that were NOT potatoes were ordered by Queen Victoria to be sent to Britain, rather than feed the starving Irish. Please correct this paragraph. 2A02:8084:6182:7580:70E5:DB92:D93D:4153 (talk) 20:29, 12 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Surprisingly there is no link included to Cultural depictions of Queen Victoria, which is pretty key. I'd like to suggest a "See Also" section added towards the bottom with the appropriate link. 136.159.160.123 (talk) 16:51, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There's a link in the Legacy section. DrKay (talk) 16:54, 15 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
